It also has a photo paper tray built in so you don' t have to find the photo paper and load it every time. This unit starts up quick and quiet, prints fast and accurate. You can find them for less if you decide to not buy them directly from Kodak. They sell for an MSRP of $14.99 for the color and $9.99 for black or $22.99 for a combo pack (1 of each). Unlike other brands this unit only uses 2 cartridges - one 5 color and one black. This unit does it all - print, scan, copy and fax. I didn't believe it until I looked into it and researched it for myself. So why not buy the only printer that will save you more than 50% off other brands of replacement ink AND yield nearly 50% more prints(color, B/W or photos). What do you buy more of? Printers or ink? Usually the answer is ink. The best & last printer you'll ever buy!!! Overall, this is a great printer that easily earns a "5/5". Even on "Draft" quality prints, there is barely any noise. But on the 5500, the sound is EXTREMELY quiet, in my opinion. Again, coming from the HP 2410, the obnoxious noises I was used to. However, when doing 10 or more "Draft" quality prints, th e speed is amazing! There are no imperfections in these prints either. The speed ("Regular" quality) is satisfactory it is quite comparable with my previous 2410. The scanner's glass is also surprisingly large, which proves handy for 8.5x11 + coping/scanning. It is also nice to have 3 Speed Dial buttons for faxing. The built in 4圆 photo deck is very, very easy to use simply push it in to engage it. The user interface is very nice, easy to understand (very straight forward). Setup was very easy, as the included instructions were surprisingly easy to follow. Upgrading from a 3 year old all-in-one HP printer (HP PSC 2410), I wasn't sure what to expect with this printer.
